SOPHIE COPPEDGE WALKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Sophie Coppedge Walker Memorial Scholarship is given in honor of a remarkable lady who began her lifelong love of horses here at Woodsong. Sophie's generous spirit, genuine kindness, and unwavering love of her horses and other animals made her universally loved by all who knew her. She will be forever missed. With this scholarship, it is hoped that another life long love affair with horses may be sparked.
This scholarship, available through a generous private donation, will cover all tuition expenses for five days at Woodsong Farm's Pony Kids horsemanship program. Riding helmet, paddock boots and jodhpurs will also be included in the scholarship package. Transportation to and from Woodsong Farm, and daily snack and lunch will be the responsibility of the recipient.
While the Pony Kids program is open to children ages seven to fifteen years of age, applicants for the scholarship must be between seven and ten years of age. No previous horse exposure or riding experience is required. Scholarship applicants must also meet the requirements of all Pony Kids participants (as outlined in General Camp Information here on the Woodsong Farm website). Those interested in applying for the scholarship are requested to complete the Sophie Coppedge Walker Memorial Scholarship application which is downloadable from the green button below. The applications will be reviewed, and the recipient will be selected, by a committee. Each applicant will be assigned a number so that the committee can review each application anonymously. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Applications must be received by May 25th.
